Sokol Building
The Sokol building near the railway station comes from 1926. Its foundation hangs together with the activity of the Sokol organization in the Bakovsko Region founded already in 1885.
The building built according to the Bakov native man Josef Studničný was financed entirely from contributions of local Sokol organisations and a public collection.
The building arose as well as the Prokop Veliký’s Congregation in the spirit of the Czech cubism. The own gym was covered by the front building in form of geometric bodies. Its base is formed by a cuboid and the middle-prepositioned tower, on which top a falcon statue with outstretched wings is situated.
The building was reconstructed 1977, when the general repair of roofs was realised, and 1998, when the central heating was introduced and a new plaster installed.
